Volunteering
The project works because of our volunteers.
People donating their time to help us refurbish bikes is the only way we can do what we do. The majority of the volunteering we offer is in bike maintenance & refurbishment.
We always need volunteers with experience in bike repair and maintenance to help us refurbish bikes or help out in our free bike building projects. Experience is really useful, but not essential, and a keen interest in bikes or cycling helps.
If helping refurbish and repair bikes sounds like you and you would like to get involved, give us a call and come and have a try out day with our workshop manager.
How you can help
Fundraising
There is an opportunity to get involved in the capacity of fundraising support. The ideal person would have experience of writing funding applications to trusts and foundations and would be happy to do research and bid writing. If you are interested in doing other admin duties too – we can certainly use your help.
Business Development
We are always looking at ways of developing new projects and business opportunities to help fund our work. If this appeals to you, please get in touch for more details.
Event Support
We often need help when delivering events, such as attending community events with our pedal powered smoothie bike and our community Dr Bikes. If you would like to get involved on an occasional basis such as weekends, please get in touch.
People volunteer for different reasons, retirement being one.
We are particularly keen to enlist the help of retired, or semi-retired people. So, if you would like to give a day a week to help a community project, give us a shout.
We also have other volunteering roles and are always open to suggestions if you feel you have a skill you would like to share.
It’s a nice project to be involved with, and we are sure you will learn something too, but don’t take my word for it, come and get involved.
